Impromptu dinner: seasonings

There is nothing worst, than a pressure of an impromptu dinner. It's fantastic to catch up with good friends over a glass of wine, but the prospect of cooking a meal fast and making it tasty as well is outright terrifying. We've been there way too many times and that's how our collection of seasonings was born. We cannot imagine our culinary adventures without even one of them, but just like us, you too will play favourites. Here is what we put on, the very last time a couple of friends knocked on our door.

Set the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and prep your main dish. We had some organic chicken breast on hand, so we poured cooking oil into an oven proof glass dish, placed the pieces of chicken in it and added HoH White Himalayan salt with organic chili with a pinch of HoH Black Pepper (ground-time was obviously a factor), all while uncorking a bottle of wine. Next we added our Tomato & Black Caraway and wild garlic seasoning-very generously, to coat both sides of each piece. The main part is done-we didn't time it, but we are pretty sure it was less than 5 min. This one is ready for the oven. Bake for about 20 min checking for doneness. How about a fabulous salad to serve it with? Check what's in your fridge, we usually have spinach, tomatoes, avocado and scallions. We tossed all ingredients together and added some feta cheese sprinkled with- you guessed it, our Salads seasoning. We usually make a quick dressing with one of our oils, an organic lemon and some White Himalayan salt with organic herbs. We served chicken with salad, that not only looked and smelled delicious, but was light, tasty and super fast.

For finger food to wait out the 20 min of baking, form a ball of soft goat cheese and coat it evenly with HoH Cheese and Butter seasoning-serve with crackers. Pour some HoH Pumpkin seed oil into a small dish and grind in coarsely our HoH Savory Dishes seasoning for an awesome dip if you have some fresh bread on hand.

Our small dinner crowd was truly impressed. We chatted around the kitchen table, sipping on wine, all while the prep was swiftly raging on. It turned out to be one of the easiest and fun afternoons topped with a delicious meal. Get cooking and make it simple.
