Evening primrose seed oil is our BFF for many reasons- it can help reduce PMS symptoms (hallelujah), balance hormones, and help with acne or skin imperfections.
Thanks to its ability to balance hormones, EPO can be helpful with symptoms of menopause, menstruation and acne. Evening primrose oil is an extremely rich source of an omega 6 fatty acid called Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA). Getting enough GLA is crucial to support overall hormonal function within the body. In fact, many women with Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) struggle to convert the fats they eat into GLA. Acne is often the result of a hormonal imbalance – in both teenagers and adults. Of course, it’s more likely to be the cause of acne in women due to their constantly fluctuating hormones, particularly related to menstruation and menopause. We use it internally as well as externally, gently padding it over a damp skin- great for overnight treatment.
EPO face mask: using a half banana, a tablespoon of organic raw honey, a quarter teaspoon of ground coffee (recycle your morning brew's grind) and a teaspoon of HoH evening primrose oil. Mix well. Leave on your skin for 30 minutes. Repeat this treatment once a week.
Warning: Do not use if safety seal is broken or missing. Keep out of reach of children. We recommend that you consult with licensed health care practitioner before using this product, particularly if you are pregnant, nursing or on any medications. Keep refrigerated for longer shelf life. Keep away from heat or direct sunlight.
